She was scheduled to have left Amsterdam for Malaysia on Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 on the same day, Jan 14. She leaves behind a husband and a child.
Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Hussin Ismail said the Malaysian police were waiting for feedback from the Amsterdam police on the case.

Meanwhile, Malaysia Airlines Director of Operations Captain Azharuddin Osman said in a statement issued here today that the airline was cooperating with the authorities in Amsterdam in the investigation and they were still in the process of ascertaining the cause of death.

"As the authorities shed more light on this matter, we should be in a better position to release more details. Until then, any other information on this would be pure speculation," he said.

Azharuddin said MAS was deeply saddened by the untimely and tragic death of Chin whose disapperance was discovered when she failed to report for pre-flight briefing for the MH17 flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur on Jan 14.
"Our main concern right now is to support the family where we can. They have been duly informed and arrangements were made for two family members to be flown on the earliest flight to Amsterdam last night," he said.

He said Chin joined MAS in 1997 and her service record throughout her tenure had been exemplary. -- BERNAMA
